I am very happy to present to you the new album by Sarbacanes, “Pyrotechnies.”
4 months in Milano
I had the incredible opportunity to play for four months at La Scala, as solo oboe.
Creation of “Mirage” by Dai Fujikura
November 25th 2022
I’m so happy to have collaborate with Dai Fujikura during festival Nouveaux horizons in Aix en Provence. I premiered his piece Mirage. It’s written for solo oboe, last about 12 minutes. There is a beautiful multiphonic choral passage in the middle and very high notes that redefine the limits of the instrument! Of course, nothing beat the live performance but you can listen it here. Many thanks to Dai, Renaud Capuçon and the all team of the nouveaux horizons festival for this wonderful experience. I’m so glad to help enlarging the oboe repertoire!

My first album has been released!
What a joy, it is the achievement of many hours of work, recording, listening…!
You can find in this album my favorite romantic pieces for oboe and piano. The title is directly borrowed from the Romances by Clara and Robert Schumann, essentials in the oboe repertoire (even if the Romances de Clara were written for the violin). You will also hear Three pieces in the romantic style by Léopold Wallner. I think this is the first recording of these pieces, which deserve to be better known and more played! (I strongly recommend that you listen to the third one: Reverie). We added the Poem by Marina Dranishnikova, an incredible work, full of twists (and flats).
And finally, the Salut d’Amour by Edward Elgar, so that the melody stays stuck in your head endlessly!
Very good listening!

A huge thank you to the Banque Populaire Foundation for including me in the prestigious list of its laureates!
“Instrumental Soloist Revelation of the Victoires de la Musique Classique in 2020, Gabriel Pidoux, oboist, has just joined the Banque Populaire Foundation! Curious, hardworking, passionate, Gabriel wants to introduce the oboe to music lovers and to push the limits of his instrument. Interested in the history of his instrument, he has also perfected the study of ancient oboes. Since the oboe is too rarely heard outside the orchestra, Gabriel is keen to offer a new approach and a more unique way of listening to this instrument with its infinite capabilities.”

Instrumental Soloist Revelation 2020
February 21th 2020
I have no words, I had an incredible evening. Thank you to everyone who made this unique experience possible. A moment of glitter and unreality.
Everyone is: The Victories of Classical Music, France 3, France Musique, Orchester national de Metz, David Reiland, Bertrand Chamayou, Cité musicale-Metz, the technical team, the make-up artists…
But above all, thank you to you, who voted, who made this show an extraordinary event. I want to share this victory with everyone involved in wind instruments, oboe makers, Marigaux, suppliers of cane for reeds, who promote our instrumental heritage throughout the world!
I also want to express my sincere admiration to Théotime Langlois de Swarte, for his music, his research and his projects and to Raphaëlle Moreau, for his stratospheric playing and his accuracy, in every way!
I look forward to seeing what will follow.
From the bottom of the heart, THANKS.

Concert of the Victoires de la Musique’s Revelations – Salle Gaveau, Paris
January 16th 2020
Yesterday, in Paris, the concert of the revelations of the Victories of Classical Music was held in the legendary Salle Gaveau. The program was eclectic, combining the Sinfonia from the Cantata BWV 156 by Johann Sebastian Bach, the First Romance by Robert Schumann op. 94, and The Spanish Ballet by Gilles Silvestrini. On this occasion, Suzana Kubik made a portrait for France Musique: you can read it here.
